Drafts

Rentalot’s Draft & Send flow lets your agent compose messages while you stay in control of sending them. No carrier registration or business messaging accounts needed — messages are sent from your own phone.

How It Works

  1. Ask your agent to draft a message (e.g. “Follow up with Sarah about the showing”)
  2. The agent composes the message and shows a preview in the chat
  3. Click Send via SMS or Send via WhatsApp — your messaging app opens with the text pre-filled
  4. Tap send in your messaging app
  5. Back in Rentalot, the draft is marked as sent

Batch Drafts

Need to follow up with multiple contacts at once? Ask your agent:

  • “Draft follow-ups for everyone who had showings today”
  • “Send a reminder to all contacts who haven’t responded”

The agent creates up to 20 drafts in one batch. Each gets its own send button.

Draft Queue

All your drafts are collected on the Drafts page in the dashboard sidebar. From there you can:

  • Send — opens the deep link to your messaging app
  • Edit — tweak the message text before sending
  • Copy — copy the message to your clipboard
  • Mark as sent — manually confirm you sent it

Drafts are sorted newest first. Pending drafts that haven’t been sent within 7 days are automatically expired.

Tips

  • Draft messages work best for SMS and WhatsApp — the deep link opens your native messaging app with the text pre-filled.
  • On desktop, WhatsApp deep links open WhatsApp Web. SMS deep links work on macOS (Messages app) but may not work on Windows/Linux — use the Copy button instead.
  • You can edit a draft’s text directly on the Drafts page before sending it.
